James and Tifany moved to the area in May 2017 (right before Harvey!) for James to take a preaching job in the area right after he had graduated from Sunset International Bible Institute as a pulpit minister.

Shortly after moving here, Tifany started a pet sitting business, Lone Star Pet Sitting and Dog Walking, which quickly grew into a full time business with multiple sitters. James is from Ohio and Tifany is from Arkansas, but between church family, a successful business and the amazing people in the area, Montgomery County soon felt like home.

In 2020 James and Tifany got licensed to become foster parents and within the next year, fostered 1 little boy and 2 baby girls. About a year later they got a call from a family friend asking them to adopt two baby brothers, which they gladly said “yes!”

Tifany had worked at a coffee house in Tyler, TX and Granville, OH and loved the connection and culture that a great cup of coffee could bring to a community. That had always been the real dream for Tifany - to start a coffee shop! March 2023 the dream started to become a reality as they opened Vertex Coffee as a coffee truck in Willis at YUM Food Truck Park! The ultimate goal is still to open a brick and mortar coffee house, but they are thrilled to already be spreading the coffee culture in Montgomery County! Most days you will probably catch James as the barista, but you will see Tifany there on some days too! Even when Tifany is staying home with their three little boys she frequents the food truck park to play with the kiddos while their dad is working!
